This tutorial uses PS to synthesize a creative scene and put headphones on a planet in outer space. It is a surreal, beautiful and incredible scene. The tutorial mainly explains the color adjustment and light adjustment parts, because light is an important part that affects the color of objects. We You will encounter it when compositing other things in the later stage. Through this article, let’s lay the foundation for students to be exposed to more synthesis tasks in the future. Let’s learn how to operate it together.

Operation steps
1. Create a new canvas of 1920*1080, then import the background image and adjust the color of the background. (A good material is equal to more than half of a good work~)
2. Import the planet material, use the elliptical marquee tool to cut out the planet, and then make adjustments.
3. Adjust the tonality of the planet material. (Under the tonality of the overall picture, the tonality of the planet appears to be relatively too pure; the background is gray and the planet is pure, because there is a lot of yellow mixed with it), so the natural saturation of the planet material is reduced to make it more tonal. Sexual proximity.
4. Adjustment of brightness (the stones are all dark under the light source, and the planet appears too bright). Create a new Curves adjustment layer so that its brightness values are close so that the materials can be integrated into the same picture.
5. Color bias (the whole picture is blue-green, and the planet will also change due to the influence of the environment). Add a color balance adjustment layer
6. To make the planet three-dimensional, there must be a boundary between light and dark. (Light is important in determining whether an object is three-dimensional.) Use black and white brushes to create light, dark, and reflective surfaces. Create a new layer, use a soft-edged brush, reduce the opacity of the brush, use white to draw the bright side, and adjust the blending mode to Linear Dodge; draw black/gray to the dark side, and set the blending mode to Multiply.
6. Create a new Curves adjustment layer to enhance contrast. (You can add a mask to erase other unnecessary parts)
7. Shape details. In a backlit scene, the stones in the distance are black; the position close to the light source is the brightest, so use a white brush to create a strong highlight edge on the edge of the planet closest to the light source.
8. Cut out the headphone material, place it, create a new mask and use a brush to erase the part blocked by the planet.
9. Create a new curve and color balance adjustment layer to adjust the color of the headphones.
10. Dimming the light source. (Same as the principle of adjusting the planet) Create a new layer, use a black/white brush, adjust the hardness value and opacity, and change the light source of the headset according to the layer blending mode.
11. Draw the shadow of the headphones.
12. Cut out the character and place it.
13. Shape the character’s tone in the scene. (Color Balance + Curves + Vibrance)
14. Shape the light source of the character in the scene – the bright side.
15. Shape the light source-dark side of the character in the scene.
16. Shape the light source-reflective surface of the character in the scene.
17. Add light and dark contrast to a curve.
18. Depict the shadow of the character near the rock.
19. After the material is processed, adjust the overall light source. Create a new Curves adjustment layer and duplicate it one more layer.
20. Darken the four corners. (Fill the new layer with black, add a mask, use a brush to erase the center area, black represents erasure, and reduce the layer transparency)
21. Finally, use CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+E to stamp all layers to get the final draft, and right-click to convert to Smart Object. Add smart sharpening.
22. Add appropriate text embellishment and it is finished.

A good design requires a combination of creativity and technology. Any creative ideas students have can be realized through PS. See how intense the collision of some elements can be.
