Look at the final renderings first!
1. Create a fill pattern.
Create a 60 X 60 transparent canvas and use a white pencil to trace the left and bottom sides of the canvas as shown below.
Edit >> Define pattern.
2. Create another canvas (500 X 500). Use the Ellipse Tool to draw the following circle.
3. Set the layer style.
Gradient overlay and inner shadow:
Get the following effect:
4. Create a new layer and fill it with the previously defined pattern.
5. Open the map material.
6. Import map materials.
7. Hold down Ctrl and click on the circle layer to obtain a selection.
8. Make sure the map layer is the current layer, go to Filter >> Distort >> Spherize.
9. Invert the selection (Ctrl + Shift + I) and delete.
10. Set the blending mode of the map layer to “Color Dodge” and the grid layer to “Overlay”. Get the final result!
